Monday Munch Bunch – A Healthy Start to the Week for Class 1
This Monday morning, our Class 1 classroom was filled with colour, crunch, and cheer as students celebrated *Monday Munch Bunch* – a fun nutrition activity to promote healthy eating habits.
Each child brought a bowl of goodness from home – from protein-packed *sprouts* to vibrant *vegetable and fruit salads*. The tables looked like a rainbow with sprouts, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, pomegranate, grapes, apples, bananas, and more.
*Learning Beyond the Lunchbox*
Seated in small groups of 4–5, the children didn’t just eat – they shared. Each group discussed the ingredients in their bowls and spoke about the health benefits. _“Sprouts give us protein,”_ said one child, while another proudly added, _“Carrots are good for our eyes.”_ Teachers guided the conversations, helping them link colours to nutrients – red for heart, green for strength, orange for immunity.
*Joy in Healthy Choices*
The best part? The smiles. Kids eagerly tasted each other’s bowls, discovered new flavours, and learned that healthy food can be fun and tasty. The classroom buzzed with happy chatter like _“This is yummy!”_ and _“I will ask mumma to make this again.”_
*Why It Matters*
Activities like Monday Munch Bunch help children build a positive relationship with food from an early age. They learn to appreciate fresh fruits and vegetables, understand basic nutrition, and develop the confidence to make healthy choices.
A big thank you to all the parents for preparing such wonderful, wholesome bowls. Together, we’re raising a generation that knows *good health starts with good food.*
_Eat the rainbow, grow strong!_ 🌈
